management plan. Proper management practices can eliminate most
weed problems. Weeds complete their life cycles in either one
growing season (annuals), two growing seasons (biennials), or
three or more years (perennials). Turfgrass managers must be
able to identify weeds on the basis of the appearance and form
of the primary vegetative structures, such as leaves and stems,
in order to institute timely and efficient control practices.
